Professional History:
Elizabeth Miller-Bougdanos Esq.
EMB LAW
Attorney/Mediator
[email protected]
I am an attorney licensed to practice law in the state of California since 1991. I received my J.D. from Loyola Law School and my B.A. from UCLA.
I spent the first seven years of my legal career as a litigator for a private law firm. My litigation practice included representation of plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of commercial disputes. I engaged in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, law & motion, trial prep and trial work as well as settlement conferences, mediations and arbitrations.
The next 20+ years of my legal career was in an in-house corporate setting as Senior Counsel for the California Association of REALTORS® ("C.A.R."). My work entailed advising the corporation, its business subsidiaries, REALTORS®, local Associations, Multiple Listing Services ("MLSs") and the real estate industry on a variety of broker, MLS and online data, licensing, intellectual property, privacy, antitrust, commercial, Code of Ethics, mediation, contractual, corporate, governance and real estate related matters. I oversaw the State’s legal and policy program on the MLS and published Model MLS and Bylaws documents and legal articles. I was also a frequent speaker on these issues.
I am currently an attorney in private practice, assisting clients in these same areas.
I am also a trained mediator, having mediating cases privately and for the courts where I served as a member of the LA Superior Court’s ADR panel for many years. My background as both a litigator and a corporate attorney, combined with strong and naturally intuitive and affable people skills, make me particularly well-suited to serve as a mediator and help parties resolve disputes through the mediation process.
